Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Mission Systems. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, implements, and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
  • Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment, and finished products
  • Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
  • Reviews documents, drawings, and instructions for conformance to requirements
  • Provides resolution to problems of moderate scope
  • Compares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies implementation of rework
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes project data, generates and/or reviews metrics
  • Performs audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation
  • Participates in project reviews and meetings, including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews
  • Verifies compliance to defined requirements
  • Witnesses and/or monitors test activities
  • Receives instructions from immediate supervisor
  • Contact with multiple work groups
  • Works under general supervision
  • Interfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel
  • Some contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
  • Works as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple projects
  • Participates as an active member of the project team

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of engineering methodologies, tools, and standards
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001, ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
  • Solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings
  • Solid skills in reviewing documents, drawings, and instructions for conformance to requirements techniques
  • Solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
  • Solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools
