Position Overview:

As a key member of our team, the Leave of Absence Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and overseeing employee leave processes to ensure adherence to various company policies and legal regulations. This position involves providing expert guidance and support to associates, managers, and HR personnel regarding all aspects of leave management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage a caseload of leave requests, ensuring effective communication with associates regarding their leave needs and any required documentation.

• Administer the leave management process from the initial request through to the employee's return, including the completion of necessary paperwork and eligibility assessments.

• Review and analyze medical documentation to determine eligibility for leave, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

• Maintain ongoing communication with employees on leave to facilitate a smooth transition back to work, while also coordinating with their managers as needed.

• Provide guidance to associates and management on federal, state, and company leave policies, including ADA and disability benefits.

• Manage accommodation requests and ensure timely return-to-work processes for employees with non-occupational injuries or illnesses.

• Document all interactions and maintain accurate records within the leave administration system, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate processing of payments for associates on leave or in transitional work roles.

• Stay informed about relevant leave and accommodation laws, preserving the confidentiality of all medical documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in HR or benefits management, specifically in leave of absence and disability management.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation and understanding of physical limitations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding leave management.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
