Northrop Grumman's Space PMO division is on the lookout for Computer Operations Analysts at its Vandenberg AFB site. The primary responsibilities of the selected candidates will revolve around Windows administration support and ensuring compliance within the enclave.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Formulating computer system specifications that meet business needs while aligning with the organization's system architecture standards. Documenting and establishing system parameters and formats, ensuring compatibility between hardware and software systems, and coordinating or modifying system parameters based on current and anticipated computer capacity and capabilities. Updating existing systems and processes to rectify deficiencies and enhance data management, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage efficiency.


• Deliver technical assistance for computers and related networks.


• Offer support for client and server hardware or software.


• Connect clients, servers, and terminals to established data networks.


• Educate users on the utilization of hardware and networks.


• Assess the information, network, and communication needs of users, providing recommendations for software and hardware acquisitions.


• Assist InfoSec with compliance responsibilities.

*Potential on-call rotation as necessary.

Specific Duties Supporting Engineering and Manufacturing Operations:


• Manage off-network and lab environments - setup, maintenance, compliance, and vulnerability remediation; support client and server domain transitions.


• Provide support for Engineering and Manufacturing systems - setup, maintenance, troubleshooting compliance, and vulnerability remediation.


• Configure and set up rack-mounted workstations.


• Support server applications.


• Assist with engineering applications - installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.


• Activate and test network data ports.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver technical support for computers; install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, related software, and peripherals.
  • Educate users on personal computer usage.
  • Evaluate information, network, and communication needs of users, providing recommendations for software and hardware purchases.
  • Manage Windows systems.
  • Provide support for off-network environments.
  • Conduct basic network administration.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex issues and document technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to support third-party applications.
  • Offer technical support beyond Tier 1/2 vendor assistance.
  • Provide on-call support for incidents impacting production, as necessary.
  • Monitor ticket queues to ensure service level agreements are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR an Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Current CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification OR the ability to obtain one within 6 months of starting.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance if required.
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing operations, hardware, software, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Windows Desktop OS and Office Suite.
  • Experience with Active Directory for user and computer account configuration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles (e.g., OSI model).
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT level 2 certification.
  • Experience managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments.
  • Familiarity with DFARS and NIST InfoSec controls.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise-level storage concepts, including commonly used RAID levels.
  • Experience with ServiceNow in an enterprise context.
  • Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, Visio, PowerShell.
  • Experience supporting VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
  • Customer-focused with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Cross-platform experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Exceptional customer service and service delivery skills. Maintains composure in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrates integrity and high ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Ability to quickly master new information, tasks, and situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with engineering applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive needs.

Salary Range: $79,300 - $118,900

The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are intended to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
