Position Overview

The Wealth Advisor at Midland States Bank plays a pivotal role in delivering tailored investment strategies and financial guidance to both prospective and existing clients. This position is designed to help clients pinpoint their unique financial aspirations and needs, subsequently recommending suitable plans and products to achieve those objectives. The Advisor is tasked with cultivating, enhancing, and sustaining relationships with clients in investment management, trust services, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders, while also fostering a network of influential contacts. This role often collaborates within a team-oriented client service framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively engages with high-value prospects and clients to promote financial planning, trust, and investment management services, while collaborating with influential networks to drive business growth.
  • Conducts comprehensive needs assessments for current and potential clients, providing ongoing financial advice and support.
  • Recommends tailored products and services that align with clients' objectives, tax and estate considerations, risk tolerance, and appropriate asset allocations.
  • Identifies and refers opportunities to other departments within the Bank as necessary.
  • Delivers exceptional service to meet client needs, inquiries, and challenges.
  • Maintains regular communication with existing clients, beneficiaries, and referral sources to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Represents the Bank in community initiatives and organizations to enhance its reputation.
  • Builds and sustains a referral network of internal and external sources for additional sales prospects.
  • Ensures strict adherence to compliance and operational risk controls in line with Bank and regulatory standards.
  • Completes all sales activity documentation to track performance and inform future sales strategies.
  • May require occasional travel for training and team collaboration, as well as a willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • May necessitate working in a Midland office to ensure effective collaboration and support for clients.
  • Maintains compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • CFP designation preferred.
  • 5-10 years of prior experience in financial services, with advanced qualifications or preparatory work considered in lieu of experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial and estate planning methodologies.
  • Proven success in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Sales-oriented, personable, and persuasive demeanor.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in interactions with clients and colleagues.
