Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert HR consultation across various domains including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and engagement strategies.
2. Develop and implement HR initiatives that align with organizational goals, focusing on enhancing the employee experience and promoting diversity in recruitment.
3. Act as a primary contact for employee relations, offering guidance and support to faculty and staff.
4. Conduct thorough investigations into employee grievances and recommend effective resolutions, including conflict management and performance-related issues.
5. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources on labor relations, including meetings with union representatives and overseeing contract compliance.
6. Ensure adherence to policies regarding wages, hours, and working conditions in line with labor agreements.
7. Assist in the planning and execution of HR programs and communications.
8. Provide leadership and mentorship to HR team members on various projects.
9. Foster a collaborative environment by demonstrating emotionally intelligent leadership.
10. Manage designated budget areas and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
11. Design and deliver training sessions for diverse audiences.
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
13. Analyze employee data to assess trends in recruitment, turnover, and diversity initiatives.
14. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding project statuses and HR services.
15. Document processes and investigations thoroughly.
16. Participate in internal and external committees as required.
17. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
2. A minimum of five years of relevant HR experience, including roles in talent acquisition and employee relations.
3. At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS applications.
5. Strong communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Advanced knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
7. Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
8. Commitment to the core values of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in a related field.
2. Experience in HR management within higher education.
3. Relevant HR certifications.
4. Experience with change management and HR technology systems.
Physical Demands:
Normal office physical demands with the ability to travel as needed.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with standard working hours.
