Job Title: Director of Wellness

At Exploration Elementary Charter Schools, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Wellness to lead our efforts in promoting a positive school climate, student well-being, and behavior initiatives.

Job Summary

The Director of Wellness will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating systems that support student behavior, attendance, and engagement. This role will work closely with school leadership, teachers, and support staff to build a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive wellness strategy that aligns with school goals and priorities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of behavior intervention systems, including restorative practices and proactive behavior supports.
  • Collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to integrate effective classroom management strategies and support instructional quality.
  • Develop and manage systems for tracking and improving school climate metrics, including attendance, behavior referrals, and parent engagement.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the wellness team, including school counselors, social workers, and behavior support staff.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading large-scale behavior intervention systems, preferably within a K-12 environment.
  • Strong expertise in data analysis and using data to inform decision-making and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage diverse student populations and their families.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
Performance Expectations
  • Behavioral Outcomes: Achieve a measurable reduction in behavior incidents through the implementation of targeted interventions.
  • Attendance and Engagement: Increase student attendance by at least 5% through effective attendance interventions and family engagement strategies.
  • School Climate: Ensure that 90% of classrooms meet school climate standards, including clear behavioral expectations, learning objectives, and visible core values.
