About the Role

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of our solar and energy storage projects, from conceptualization to commercial operation. You will work closely with our Chief Development Officer to implement our company's development strategy and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to streamline permitting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and implement the company's development strategy, in close collaboration with the CDO.
  • Serve as an executive-level representative of the company, effectively communicating project objectives and milestones to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other company leaders and various cross-functional teams to drive project development and growth.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, local communities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and career opportunities to the project development team.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leaders across the organization as a member of the Development Leadership Team.
  • Lead major land contract decisions and participate in landowner negotiations and structuring of all aspects of a project or transaction, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business, economics, or engineering; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in the solar industry, with commercial acumen, pipeline strategy, and project development expertise in the US market.
  • In-depth knowledge of IPP markets and practices.
  • Proven experience in successfully leading projects from start to COD in the renewable energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory requirements for solar and energy storage projects.
