We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Engineer to support the Quality Manager in executing quality control and assurance procedures across the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing quality programs, as well as training and guiding staff to facilitate necessary organizational changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director/VP of Quality in establishing and maintaining the company's quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 Automotive, ISO 13485 Medical, and other relevant specifications. Ensure adherence to additional customer-specific requirements and act as the primary liaison with external stakeholders regarding the quality system.
  • Serve as an Internal Lead Auditor, overseeing the Internal Audit program, coordinating corrective actions, and participating in supplier, customer, and registrar audits.
  • Prepare and analyze various reports for the Company and Quality Department, measuring quality and business performance metrics, including internal and customer corrective action databases. Maintain the company’s document control system.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling to develop Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), Process Flow Charts, and Inspection Control Plans, ensuring that quality requirements are clearly understood and achievable.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications related to geometric tolerancing, gauging, and statistical requirements.
  • Design and develop inspection plans and methods, including fixture and gauge design, and program Vision/CMM systems.
  • Engage with customers, sales, and engineering teams to address quality concerns and assist in the analysis of customer complaints as part of an 8D analysis team.
  • Provide training to inspectors on methodologies, statistics, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Vision Systems, and CMMs.
  • Conduct first piece, in-process, and final inspections of complex production tooling as required; perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance within a highly regulated industry, particularly in automotive and medical sectors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to individuals with varying levels of expertise.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality requirements in the automotive and medical industries, including FMEA, Process Flows, Control Plans, and system specifications.
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications such as MIL-STD-45208A, MIL-STD-45662, MIL-Q-9858A, and ISO standards.
  • General knowledge and training in principles related to metals or resins for incoming inspections.
  • Proficient in blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various software applications related to measurement systems, including Vision and CMM, as well as data collection and statistical software.
