Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough quality inspections on incoming materials and finished products to ensure they align with customer specifications and company standards.

Blueprint & Sales Order Interpretation:

Proficiently read and interpret sales orders, shop drawings, and blueprints to ensure all products are manufactured according to precise specifications.


Tool & Equipment Operation:
Effectively operate specialized tools, computers, and printers while maintaining accurate records of inspections and product quality.

Issue Reporting & Follow-Up:

Report any quality discrepancies to the Quality Control Manager and ensure timely and effective corrective actions are implemented.


Leadership:

Facilitate weekly Quality Control Floor meetings in the absence of the Quality Control Manager, providing direction and support to the inspection team.


Inspection & Testing:

Perform various quality inspection tests on both incoming goods and finished products, documenting results and authorizing storage or further processing.


Visual Inspection:
Execute comprehensive visual inspections of finished goods to confirm compliance with customer specifications and company standards.

Production Communication:

Relay necessary production adjustments to ensure products meet quality standards and implement changes when specifications are not satisfied.


Lean Manufacturing Tools:

Employ and implement lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, WPO, Visual Management, and Continuous Improvement to enhance efficiency and quality.


QA Auditing:
Design and implement a QA auditing system to ensure standardized work processes are consistently followed across all shifts.

RMA Processing:
Efficiently manage RMAs, collaborating with relevant departments and customers to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.

Root Cause Analysis:
Conduct thorough root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Sample Management:

Collect, label, and store production samples, ensuring all quality and inspection documentation is accurately archived, both physically and electronically.


Health & Safety Compliance:

Uphold and promote safety standards in accordance with Miller Edge Health & Safety Regulations, fostering a safe and organized work environment.


Environmental Maintenance:
Maintain and promote a clean, organized work environment throughout the facility, adhering to 5S principles.

Flexibility & Adaptability:
Adjust to changing production schedules and work overtime as necessary to meet customer demands.

Communication:
Act as a liaison for RMA-related issues, ensuring clear and effective communication between customers and internal teams.

Continuous Improvement:
Proactively identify areas for enhancement within the quality control processes and contribute to ongoing improvements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Activity Level:
Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.

Manual Dexterity:
Regular use of hand tools (e.g., pliers, crimpers, wire strippers) with precision.

Physical Requirements:
Occasional sitting; frequent use of hand and finger dexterity; occasional lifting/carrying of items up to 25 pounds.

Environmental Exposure:

Work near moving mechanical parts, with frequent exposure to extreme heat, loud noise, and variable temperature conditions (both hot and cold).


Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing quality control role, with hands-on experience using testing equipment and measuring instruments.


Technical Proficiency:
Strong ability to read and understand shop drawings, measure accurately using a tape measure, and operate weight scales.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with fast and accurate data entry skills.

Communication & Teamwork:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality in all tasks.
