Clinical Nurse II

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab at UCI Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in creation and implementation of the plan of care.
- Perform professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other, utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care, and readiness for discharge.
- Participate in unit-related projects as needed.
- Serve as a role model, mentor, and resource to other clinical staff in the area, and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must possess skill, knowledge, and ability to circulate, monitor, and recover a patient undergoing a diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Moderate sedation experience.
- Minimum 12 months recent experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab or minimum 3 years' recent experience working in a Cardiac Critical care unit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Current CA RN license.
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Ability to cover call shifts (24/7).
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Skill, knowledge, and ability to provide procedural nursing care during electrophysiology procedures and/or device implant procedures.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
- Knowledge and practical application of hemodynamic monitoring.
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- BLS.
- ACLS.
