Patient Service Representative II

Position Overview: The Patient Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients within our healthcare facilities. This role adheres to the operational standards and protocols of Madison Medical, ensuring a seamless experience for patients while embodying our core values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits professionalism and exceptional customer service skills, providing assistance to patients both in person and via telephone.
  • Efficiently manages patient appointment scheduling and coordinates with physicians to align with their preferences, including making reminder calls.
  • Handles incoming calls, screens inquiries, and relays messages to medical staff as directed.
  • Accurately documents patient information in electronic records and collaborates with the healthcare team to gather any necessary additional documentation.
  • Confirms insurance details and ensures that patient registration and payer information is up-to-date.
  • Identifies and rectifies registration discrepancies, utilizing insurance portals to verify patient eligibility when necessary.
  • Obtains prior authorizations for medical procedures and medications through online platforms or phone communication.
  • Assists patients in arranging follow-up appointments for tests or consultations.
  • Prepares written communication for both physicians and patients.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient data entry skills and familiarity with computer systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
  • Proven capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience handling confidential information responsibly.
