About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at UVA Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and adherence to hospital policies.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/AHEBS or NCCT approved program preferred.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT required; current registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine also required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for prolonged periods and lift heavy instrument sets.
