Surgical Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ensure adherence to aseptic technique by all team members.
  • Organize and prioritize patient care preparation in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Differentiate between sterile and unsterile items processed by various sterilization methods.
  • Support operating room procedures and interface effectively with peers and customers.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program required.
  • Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, repetitive motion, and lifting heavy instrument sets. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
