Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Virginia Jobs. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and prepare surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ensure adherence to aseptic technique and sterile conscience.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery.
  • Participate in the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled or graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/AHEBS or NCCT.
  • One year of experience working as a surgical technologist.
  • Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT.
  • Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine.
Working Conditions

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, repetitive motion, and lifting heavy instrument sets. The employee may be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
