About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring aseptic technique and minimizing the risk of infection.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Training Program preferred.
  • Current registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • No experience required, but prior experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
