Service and Repair Specialist

At MFL Industrial Services LLC, the Service and Repair Specialist is responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on material handling and aerial equipment at client locations. This role is essential in ensuring that all machinery operates in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines while adhering to MFL Industrial's high standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Diagnose and rectify issues across a range of equipment and systems, including but not limited to: liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and lifting systems.
2. Rebuild and repair components and systems in industrial material handling and related equipment.
3. Follow company safety protocols to secure equipment properly and disassemble as necessary for major repairs.
4. Conduct routine maintenance to ensure equipment performance aligns with manufacturer specifications.
5. Execute diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis on all systems and components.
6. Perform inspections to identify potential issues and safety hazards.
7. Carry out basic welding tasks as required.
8. Document maintenance and repair activities by completing necessary paperwork promptly.
9. Engage in both basic and advanced technical training as assigned.
10. Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies essential for job completion.
11. Ensure the cleanliness and safe operating condition of the company vehicle; complete vehicle checklists as needed.
12. Foster a culture of safety and actively participate in safety meetings.
13. Undertake additional related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong customer service abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of equipment and operations.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Experience & Education:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in forklift repair or a related field.
• Proficiency in reading precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
• Welding and fabrication skills are preferred.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must provide personal tools.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client sites.
