Compensation Information

The annual salary range for this position is between $132,810 and $170,556 for the SES.2 level. This range serves as a general guideline, with actual starting pay influenced by factors such as education, experience, and market conditions.

Position Overview

We are in search of skilled engineers to join our interdisciplinary team focused on analyzing the resilience of various infrastructure systems against cyber, physical, and natural threats. Your role will involve applying technical expertise, critical thinking, and analytical skills to address complex challenges and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate precise analytical questions and strategies to deliver insights on intricate infrastructure resilience challenges.
  • Create analytical models and frameworks to evaluate critical infrastructure resilience issues, including interdependencies and impacts from various threats.
  • Utilize physical and computational simulations to enhance understanding of complex infrastructure systems.
  • Innovate methods that integrate concepts from systems engineering, decision analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with experts across diverse technical fields, including cybersecurity and natural hazards.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while working independently.
  • Communicate intricate technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Engage with technical contacts from partner organizations regularly.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
  • Master's degree in engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing models for complex infrastructure systems and assessing associated risks.
  • Proven ability to define research questions and implement robust methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in computational disciplines such as risk analysis and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in relevant engineering or computer science fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure systems design and operations.
  • Experience with programming tools for modeling and simulation.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position necessitates a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. A Federal background investigation will be initiated to determine eligibility for access to classified information.
