Compensation Information
The annual salary for this position ranges from $132,810 to $170,556 at the SES.2 level. This range serves as a guideline, with various factors influencing starting pay, including qualifications and market conditions.
Position Summary
We are in search of skilled engineers to become integral members of our interdisciplinary team focused on analyzing the resilience of various infrastructure systems against cyber, physical, and natural threats. In this role, you will utilize a mix of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and modeling techniques to address complex issues and provide valuable insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate precise analytical inquiries and strategies to deliver insights on intricate infrastructure resilience challenges.
- Create analytical models and frameworks to evaluate critical issues related to infrastructure resilience, including interdependencies and risk assessments.
- Employ physical and computational simulations to enhance understanding of complex infrastructure systems.
- Innovate methods that integrate principles from systems engineering, decision analysis, and risk management.
- Collaborate with experts across various technical fields, including cybersecurity and natural hazard analysis.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while working independently.
- Articulate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Engage with technical representatives from partner organizations.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- A Master's degree in engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in developing models for complex infrastructure systems.
- Proven ability to define research questions and methodologies.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Experience in computational disciplines such as risk analysis and statistical modeling.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to travel for stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- A PhD in engineering or related fields.
- Experience in infrastructure system design and operations.
- Proficiency in programming tools such as Python or MATLAB for modeling and simulation.
