Position Summary

We are seeking a Weapons Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee and direct projects focused on the recapitalization and modernization of critical facilities, utilities, and specialized equipment that support national defense initiatives. This role is essential for maintaining the capabilities of our weapons programs, including high explosives, warhead testing, and evaluation processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities, develop schedules and budgets, and manage the design and construction phases of large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize expert-level methodologies to ensure the successful completion of project goals while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Define project requirements, design specifications, and risk management plans for specialized facility equipment projects, collaborating closely with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for various projects, leading a team of specialists and coordinating with mission support organizations to ensure effective project execution.
  • Establish project vision and strategy, advocating for innovative processes to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize project objectives and ensure timely reporting of project status and performance metrics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Level

  • Serve as a senior technical authority, ensuring that project execution aligns with established cost, scope, and schedule parameters.
  • Provide leadership in integrating facility and infrastructure plans, utilizing extensive experience to implement advanced project management techniques.
  • Engage with program sponsors to optimize construction initiatives, contributing to strategic planning efforts.
  • Employ exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence senior leadership and ensure the longevity of revitalized infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Energy Q-level security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale facility and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in technical reviews and project control methodologies, with a focus on design and construction.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively advising senior management and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional engineering registration.
  • Experience with HVAC systems and building structural systems, particularly in laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with nuclear weapons program operations and federal construction processes.
