Position: Sales Representative for Building Solutions

Compensation: Starting hourly rate between $28 and $32, based on experience, plus commission

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Location: Rochester, Washington

The Sales Representative is responsible for executing our comprehensive sales strategies and processes, managing business activities for accounts, and implementing PARR's sales initiatives. The primary focus is on prospecting new residential and commercial contractors while coordinating business activities for accounts.

This role involves daily interactions with Location Managers and both internal and external clients. Regular collaboration with corporate teams, including Central Purchasing, Account Management, and IT, as well as vendor representatives and industry associates, is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in personal computers and applications
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute
  • Ability to use ten-key by touch
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience in sales, particularly in the building materials sector is preferred
  • Reliable transportation is necessary
  • Familiarity with Windows and inventory management
  • Proven ability to meet competitive sales targets
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Understanding of PARR's sales and purchasing principles
  • Ability to act in the best interest of the company while engaging with customers
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of PARR and its clients
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and achieve personal sales and profit objectives
  • Maintain assigned accounts to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Develop new sales opportunities and accounts
  • Sell based on overall quality and service
  • Collaborate with other sales managers to enhance sales to existing clients
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with customers
  • Efficiently manage time and appointments
  • Utilize and promote PARR Sales System tools and requirements
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, both individually and in groups
  • Address customer complaints and concerns effectively
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Assist walk-in customers at the point of sale
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily office-based, requiring work at a desk with a computer. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk, and communicate effectively with the public
