Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a vital role within the healthcare team, responsible for the administration of anesthesia and the continuous monitoring of patients throughout surgical and various medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities


- Administer anesthesia safely and effectively during surgeries and medical interventions.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to any changes in condition during procedures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in critical care and airway management.
- Work in diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient environments, such as ambulatory surgery centers.


Qualifications


- Must be a Registered Professional Nurse with advanced practice training from an accredited program.
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program is required.
- Must possess or be eligible for a Medicare provider number.


Licensure and Certification


- Current licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Texas is mandatory.
- Registration as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner is required.
- Must maintain current AHA ACLS certification or higher, adhering to medical staff bylaws.
- Certification by a recognized national nursing body is recommended.
