POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES


As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Advanced Nurse Anesthesia Specialist is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and the vigilant monitoring of patients throughout surgical and medical procedures.

This role requires expertise in critical care and airway management, functioning across various inpatient and outpatient environments, including ambulatory surgery centers.

EDUCATION


The candidate must be a Registered Professional Nurse who has advanced their nursing practice through an accredited post-basic or advanced educational program recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners.

Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program is essential. Eligibility as a Medicare provider or possession of a Medicare provider number is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION


The individual must hold a current license as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and be registered by the State to practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

It is necessary to maintain current AHA ACLS certification or higher, in accordance with Medical-Dental staff bylaws. Certification by a recognized national nursing body is highly recommended.
