The Clinical Nurse Anesthetist will conduct thorough pre-anesthetic assessments, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to prepare and administer anesthesia, while ensuring comprehensive intra- and post-operative care for patients.
- Key Responsibilities
- Apply anesthesia principles to deliver optimal patient care.
- Provide extensive clinical anesthesiology services for various surgical procedures, including cardiac, orthopedic, and neurosurgical operations.
- Deliver clinical support for patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and procedures in specialized medical environments.
- Oversee patient care in surgical intensive care units, managing acute and chronic pain, and emergency airway situations.
- Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations, gathering necessary patient history and formulating appropriate anesthetic plans.
- Communicate the risks, benefits, and alternatives of anesthesia to patients effectively.
- Prepare the patient and operating environment for anesthesia administration.
- Administer various forms of anesthesia while continuously monitoring patient responses.
- Manage post-anesthetic recovery to enhance patient comfort and minimize pain.
- Ensure accurate documentation of anesthetic records and services provided.
- Stay updated with advancements in anesthesia practices, working collaboratively to enhance patient care.
- Integrate technology and skills to improve anesthesia techniques and patient outcomes.
- Address complex anesthesia challenges using innovative approaches.
- Respond promptly to emergencies with appropriate airway management and resuscitation techniques.
- Document relevant patient data in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or a related discipline.
- Graduate from an accredited anesthesia program recognized by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
- Certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is required.
- Possess a current, unrestricted nursing license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed, board-certified CRNA, with recent continuous practice.
- Experience in administering and monitoring various anesthesia types for surgical procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage anesthesia for diverse surgical cases and adapt techniques as necessary.
- Strong clinical and technical knowledge of anesthesia methods and practices.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work specified shifts and be available for on-call duties.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
