Community Engagement Coordinator

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering, establishing, and promoting collaborative partnerships with a diverse array of individuals and organizations. This position is essential for overseeing community engagement initiatives sponsored by the University.

Reporting directly to the Director, the Coordinator ensures that programs and activities align with the University’s mission and objectives, fostering reciprocal relationships within the community.


Key Responsibilities

Partnership Development:

Identify, nurture, and sustain collaborative partnerships with various stakeholders, including community organizations, non-profits, faith-based groups, businesses, educational institutions, and service providers. The goal is to address shared objectives in a mutually beneficial manner.


Volunteer Management:

Oversee proactive volunteer onboarding processes, including background checks, orientation, and tracking volunteer hours and assignments.


Database Management:

Maintain and enhance the database of community partnerships and contacts to ensure effective communication and collaboration.


Engagement and Outreach:

Collaborate with different departments to plan and enhance engagement and outreach strategies.


Content Development:

Create and manage content for the Community Engagement newsletter and website, ensuring that information is current, accurate, and engaging.


Impact Reporting:

Work with internal and external partners to coordinate, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of community engagement programs and initiatives.


Marketing Initiatives:

Promote community engagement events and activities through various channels, including print and digital media, to maximize participation.


Committee Participation:

Actively engage in relevant committees, task forces, and professional associations to further community engagement efforts.


Awareness Campaigns:

Collaborate with leadership to develop effective communication strategies aimed at raising awareness of community engagement initiatives.


Special Projects:

Assist in the planning and execution of major University-wide community engagement projects.


Additional Duties:

Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, communications, social work, or human resources, along with at least one year of experience in volunteer services or community engagement.


Preferred:

Master’s degree in a related field and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential. The ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and manage multiple tasks effectively is crucial.
