About the Role

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Director, Community Engagement to lead our community outreach and engagement efforts in Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to promoting justice, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of state organizers, providing training and coaching to ensure their success.
  • Lead a powerful civic engagement operation, including volunteer and paid voter contact efforts, to activate and mobilize voters.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with local community members, allies, and execute a strategy to ensure SPLC has a presence in the Augusta-Richmond County area to engage with and continuously support the community.
  • Serve as the SPLC Augusta-Richmond County expert on all work being conducted by community and civic leaders.
  • Support advocacy and public education driven by community organizations and leaders.
  • Hire, train, and monitor staff performance and development, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of field organizing experience.
  • At least three (3) years of supervisor experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
What We Offer

This is an exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $94,793.00 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The Southern Poverty Law Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
