Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Nord Center is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of our facilities in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, carpentry, painting, and landscaping.
  • Conduct monthly preventative maintenance and repairs on heating, cooling, ventilating, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Repair and/or replace structures, including porches, sheds, decks, garages, and roofing.
  • Perform surface preparation, such as drywall, sanding, spackle, caulking, and plastering.
  • Move and transport tools, boxes, and furniture as required.
  • Remove snow and ice from walks, driveways, and parking lots.
  • Maintain vehicle fleet to ensure they are safe, clean, and operable for clients and employees.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, along with at least two years training or hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, electrical, or plumbing trades.
  • Must be able to understand and safely operate all hand and power tools needed to perform all functions in the position guide.
  • Must be capable of working independently and working flexible hours due to snow removal, emergency situations, and/or special projects.
  • Must have a valid Ohio driver's license with less than 6 points in a 36-month period and have proof of adequate personal automobile insurance.
