Description
Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing and executing all activities related to Produce Supply Management, Inventory Control, and Category Management within the produce sector to guarantee the availability of high-quality and cost-effective products. The specialist ensures that produce items are sourced from suppliers, processed, and delivered to meet customer fulfillment needs and business performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and proper rotation.
- Identify and communicate any discrepancies in inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain precise records.
- Organize inventory to prioritize the sale of time-sensitive products on a first-in-first-out basis.
- Perform daily inspections of products, both in-house and incoming, to uphold quality standards.
- Continuously monitor the strategic management of product storage.
- Adhere strictly to food safety regulations and practices.
- Assist in receiving and organizing all incoming products.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Possess knowledge of plant life cycles.
- Make informed decisions regarding the health of plants and produce.
- Oversee the daily operations of the agency's gardens and greenhouse throughout the year.
- Understand the production and application of compost for plant growth and soil enhancement.
- Effectively manage greenhouse and garden supplies and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of plants from seed to harvest, including quantities produced and relevant notes.
- Familiarity with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to ensure safe food production.
- Order and account for materials and labor related to greenhouse maintenance accurately.
- Issue, inventory, and order greenhouse supplies as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

At least two (2) years of relevant experience is required.

At least four (4) years of relevant experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. at waist height within an office environment.
