Client Intake Coordinator

SCHEDULE: 1st shift, Monday-Friday

As an Intake Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to identify, screen, and evaluate potential clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining precise case files for each assigned client.
- Collaborating effectively with judicial personnel to ensure all relevant offenders are assessed.
- Reviewing pre-sentence documentation and engaging with Probation/Parole departments, law enforcement, and criminal justice organizations for insights on potential clients.
- Ensuring that eligible inmates are evaluated for placement in suitable community intermediate sanctions.
- Conducting and meticulously documenting screening interviews of prospective clients promptly.
- Gathering background information from prospective clients to establish future goals and objectives, utilizing appropriate assessment tools.
- Facilitating and sustaining effective communication while fostering a professional, prosocial rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Identifying prosocial thoughts and behaviors, reinforcing them within program guidelines.
- Recognizing antisocial thoughts and behaviors and addressing them in a constructive manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Corrections, or a related field is required.
- Preferred experience includes six (6) months in Corrections and/or Social Services.
- Experience in case management is advantageous.
- Must achieve and maintain the required proficiency level for the ORAS as certified by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati; failure to do so will disqualify the employee from performing essential job functions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- A valid Ohio driver's license, reliable transportation, and a driving record that meets Agency liability insurance requirements are mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively with Agency staff, external contacts, and a diverse client population, along with obtaining security clearances for all correctional facilities.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and pass a drug screening is required.
