Job Summary

Child Guidance & Family Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join our team. As a vital part of our organization, the Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in responding to inquiries from individuals or parents/guardians regarding requests for treatment, handling referrals from outside entities, and scheduling and/or cancelling initial appointments for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Registration: Serve as the initial point of contact with new clients, completing the client registration process in our electronic health record system.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage to schedule appointments with the appropriate provider.
  • Referral and Scheduling: In coordination with our internal clinical team, refer clients to other community resources when indicated, and provide emergency recommendations for non-clients.
  • Intake Management: Monitor available intake times and ensure compliance with wait time standards.
  • Crisis Support: Provide consultation as needed when crises arise during intake calls.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of professional office experience, strong data entry and computer skills preferred.
  • Background: Experience working in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to hear and process difficult client situations compassionately and with healthy boundaries.
