Job Summary

The Steward is a critical member of our food service team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen and back of house areas. As a Steward, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all plates, utensils, and kitchen tools to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Deep clean and organize kitchen areas, including the dish machine, basin sinks, and storage areas, to maintain a high level of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Properly scrub and store all pots and pans to prevent damage and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Assist with polishing of service ware and maintain a clean and organized employee dining area.
  • Communicate with management and staff to ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and maintained.
  • Perform other cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned by management to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as well as flexible hours to meet the needs of the business.
  • Access to a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Servsafe certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic, particularly during peak service periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a food service establishment, preferably in a stewarding or sanitation role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours consistently).
  • Exposure to hot pans, sharp knives, open flames, and temperatures ranging from hot to cold.
