Position Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Attendant is primarily tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of shared spaces within the establishment. This role is essential in fostering a safe work environment and delivering high-quality service to enhance guest satisfaction. The attendant will collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and fellow housekeeping personnel to optimize operational efficiency. A commitment to providing outstanding service to guests is paramount, as is embodying the values of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Be knowledgeable about the proper maintenance and usage of equipment, utilizing it only as intended.
  • Maintain positive interactions with guests at all times.
  • Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by keeping all areas clean and well-maintained.
  • Exceed daily cleaning quotas when requested.
  • Secure all supplies, cleaning materials, and linens, keeping them organized and accessible.
  • Inspect and prepare all materials and equipment for service readiness.
  • Assist in managing inventory of supplies and linens.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of special events as needed.
  • Help housekeeping staff with laundry and room cleaning tasks.
  • Provide assistance in other hotel areas during busy periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the lobby, entrance, and bell carts.
  • Promote safety, sanitation, and guest service initiatives.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities are regularly inspected and maintained.
  • Monitor guest feedback and collaborate with staff to ensure satisfaction.
  • Follow protocols for lost or stolen items.
  • Comply with hotel policies regarding guest and employee incidents.
  • Contribute to team success and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist the housekeeping manager with various tasks as required.
Accountability:
The associate is responsible for all duties outlined in this job description and any additional tasks assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the housekeeping sector.
  • One to two years of relevant experience or training.
  • Strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills are beneficial.
Job Requirements:

  • Ability to read and communicate in English.
  • Capable of following verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Quick learner of simple procedures and techniques.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights of 35 lbs or more.
  • Capable of performing simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks.
  • Frequent overhead reaching is required.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, and navigate uneven surfaces regularly.
  • Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions is necessary.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • Must be adaptable to variable room temperatures.
