Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

About the Role:
Clarity Software Solutions Inc is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of new computer projects and hardware installations
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware and organizational hardware needs
  • Conduct research on and make recommendations for hardware products in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions
  • Collaborate with Technology team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization's desktop computing environment
  • Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation network software products
  • Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors as needed
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or Jira / QC Tickets regarding desktop / equipment problems

Requirements:
  • Associated Degree required, with a focus on Computer Science preferred
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar are a plus
  • At least 2-3 years of direct job-related experience required

Preferred Skills:
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Knowledge of computer software, operating systems, hardware, and networking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of PC internal components
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
