Job Summary

Crouse Hospital is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze patient medical records to ensure proper technical factors are used for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, including computed tomography.
  • Review images and records to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness for diagnostic purposes.
  • Accurately document results and promptly alert the Radiologist of any unacceptable variations.
  • Routinely complete medical imaging equipment quality control checks and document results according to existing department policy.
  • Coordinate radiation safety programs and assist other clinical staff with preparing hypodermic supplies and injection of contrast material.
  • Ensure pre-exam preparations are delivered in a timely fashion and transport medical specimens to the lab.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • New York State Diagnostic Medical Radiography License required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration required.
  • AART Computerized Tomography Board Certification or 1 year of full-time experience as a CT Technologist in lieu of certification.
  • Certified by AART Computerized Tomography Board within 1 year of hire if not already certified.
  • Certified with Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection as a Radiologic Technologist and to inject contrast media during radiologic procedures within 90 days of hire.
