Position Overview:
As a representative of Sutter Health, you will oversee design and construction initiatives, which encompass new developments, facility enhancements, renovations, and retrofitting projects.

Your role will involve coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on design and construction activities, adhering to the project controls requirements specified in the Process & Controls Manual (PCM).

You will be accountable for managing consultant and construction agreements while demonstrating project management expertise, with guidance from your supervisor and support from senior project managers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful delivery of small-scale projects with light to moderate complexity, meeting timelines and budget constraints. You will also manage relationships with Sutter Health affiliates throughout these projects.

Travel Requirements:
This position necessitates travel, primarily focusing on Sutter Valley Medical Foundation locations in the Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties, with occasional travel to the Greater Sacramento area within the Sutter footprint.

Education:
Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's Degree:
Preferred fields include Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or other closely related disciplines.

Typical Experience:
2 years of recent relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the Last Planner System and its application in Lean Construction.
- Ability to develop reliable cost estimates and schedules for small projects.
- Competence in identifying typical risks associated with scope, budget, and schedule for small projects.

- Understanding of healthcare construction building codes and regulations, space programming, cost analysis, jurisdictional approval processes, construction methodologies, and contract execution.

- Knowledge of state-level building approval processes, including the requirements of the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), California Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), and The Joint Commission (TJC).

- Awareness of local building approval processes at the county and city levels.
- Proficiency in project management techniques and software.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective teamwork abilities to ensure proper communication and coordination among project delivery teams, affiliates, and vendors.

- Excellent client relationship management skills to foster positive interactions between FPS and affiliate leadership.
- Recognition of the significance of team culture on overall performance.
