About the Role

As an Operations Supervisor - Hauling Operations at Republic Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the collections activities in one or more lines of business, including commercial, residential, roll-off, and container delivery and pick-up, in a geographically dispersed area. You will lead a team of drivers and helpers, working closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives that drive functional excellence and budget achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety: Lead the team to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives, removing unsafe conditions or situations from drivers' routes, and partnering with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Customer Experience: Provide service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations, resolving unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders.
  • Efficiency: Establish productivity goals, ensure adherence to operating standards, and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans, leading drivers to exceed productivity goals and expectations for all routes.
  • Employee Engagement: Create a collaborative, communicative team environment, driving employee engagement with the Company, building and developing talent on the team, and understanding employees' career goals and providing coaching to get employees ready for advancement.
