About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Enrollment Eligibility Specialist to join our team at UnitedHealthcare. As a key member of our benefits administration team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pension benefits program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer pension benefits, including collection of data from participants to determine eligibility and vesting schedules.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone and email, conveying information regarding the provisions of the pension plans.
  • Create various types of correspondence, including letters and emails, to communicate with members and employers.
  • Collect and enter participant hours worked and contribution amounts, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Process monthly pension checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Calculate projections and contribution requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain retiree election forms, beneficiary forms, and eligibility calculations.
  • Apply analytical and researching techniques to resolve complex issues and discrepancies.
  • Perform basic clerical functions with proficiency in PC and Excel skills.
  • Initiate and assist with developments to increase quality and productivity.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1+ years of experience working with billing reconciliation, posting deposits, and accounts receivable.
  • 1+ years of experience in an office call center setting using the telephone and computer as primary instruments for analyzing and solving customer problems and inquiries.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, including creating, editing, saving, sending, sorting, filtering, entering data, and using basic formulas in spreadsheets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, including mouse and keyboard skills, data entry, opening documents, saving documents, and learning new and complex computer system applications.
  • Ability to work full-time in an office environment, with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in finance/accounting.
  • Experience using AS400.
  • Experience with Taft-Hartley Administration.
  • Experience reconciling bank accounts.
  • Experience working with ERISA Compliant Benefit Funds.
  • Experience working with healthcare insurance enrollment/eligibility.
  • Experience with pension plan administration and state and federal tax filings.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
