Job Overview

Verdex Construction, LLC is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our Operations team, contributing to our vision of 'Building Something Better.'


Position Summary:

The Project Engineer serves as a vital support to the project manager, executing critical project responsibilities such as managing submittals, aiding in the procurement of subcontractors, scheduling, and coordinating subcontractor trades. This role is designed to provide individuals with the experience and knowledge necessary to advance to a Project Manager position.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with project personnel to develop strategic action plans and cost estimates for materials, labor, and other resources needed for project completion.
  • Assist in the formulation and refinement of project plans and designs.
  • Evaluate and recommend materials, equipment, and methodologies for project execution.
  • Assess the qualifications, capabilities, resources, and financial stability of vendors.
  • Oversee the progress of development projects.
  • Analyze actual project costs against initial estimates.
  • Coordinate with the design team to modify plans as necessary.
  • Examine systems and processes to identify enhancements that can improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular progress and financial reports for management.
  • Ensure adherence to codes, guidelines, best practices, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to identify and resolve issues.
  • Engage with project engineers from other locations to exchange challenges and solutions.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in budgeting and cost management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite; knowledge of Procore is advantageous.

Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
