Project Engineer II

Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, assess, relay, and monitor the status of project submittals.
- Initiate, draft, review, monitor, and disseminate Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Support the management of the project permitting process.
- Oversee and verify the delivery of materials to the site.
- Recruit and recommend the termination of subcontractors/vendors, including negotiations, subcontract agreements, material contracts, and purchase orders.
- Manage the schedules, performance, and payments of subcontractors and vendors, making decisions to reschedule or re-coordinate work to ensure adherence to the project timeline.
- Ensure compliance with Small Business requirements.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the contract, including the obligations of HPA and the Owner.
- Develop and maintain a site logistics plan in collaboration with the Superintendent staff.
- Provide timely notifications to the Owner to safeguard HPA's interests concerning additional work, design modifications, delays, impacts, etc., which necessitate independent contract analysis.
- Ensure the project meets HPA's high-quality standards by delivering a superior product.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Three (3) to Four (4) years of experience as a Project Engineer in the Pump Station Construction or Heavy Civil Construction sector.
- Estimating skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with grading, drainage, paving (both asphalt and concrete), bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and all other scopes related to pump station construction.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Experience with E-Builder, eCMS, and/or RMS is preferred.
- Procore experience is preferred.
- Bluebeam experience is preferred.
- Autodesk Revit experience is preferred.
