Position Overview
Gannett Fleming is seeking a dedicated Construction Engineering Inspector (CEI) Project Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for those looking to advance their careers in construction management while working alongside seasoned engineers on complex roadway and bridge projects for various governmental clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing construction projects by providing oversight and ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
- Prepare progress reports and assist in final estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licensure:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida is required.
- Must obtain Florida endorsement within six months if licensed in another state.
Experience:
For candidates with degrees in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management:
- Minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience in transportation projects.
- A Master's Degree may substitute for one year of experience.
For candidates without relevant degrees:
- At least eight years of experience in CEI or construction, with two years in transportation projects.
Certifications:
Certifications may be obtained within six months of hire under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer, provided a training plan is submitted. Required certifications include:
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- CTQP Final Estimates Level II
- CTQP Quality Control Manager (upon passing the examination)
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in problem-solving.
- Experience in directing tasks for administrative and field staff.
