About Our Retail Team

This opportunity allows you to promote a positive shopping/donor experience while enhancing customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Your contributions directly support the success of our program and its participants.

Shift Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations.
  • Assume responsibility for all day-to-day store functions in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development to Store Employees.
  • Ensure Customer/Donor needs are met by maintaining excellent Customer/Donor/Community relations; resolving complaints promptly; and providing efficient service.
  • In the absence of the Store Manager and Store Assistant Manager, communicate any personnel issues with the District Sales Manager.
  • Coordinate daily morning and shift change team meetings in the absence of the Store Manager and Store Assistant Manager.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and ensure adequate inventory levels. Oversee timely completion of Rag Out from the sales floor.
  • Back Room Processing (BRP): Ensure Material Handlers work effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
  • Donation Attendants: In the absence of the Store Manager, oversee Donation Attendants' performance according to their job description.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including safeguarding cash in registers and banking receipts as per ARC policy.
  • Implement appropriate loss prevention measures as directed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of retail experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to The Salvation Army's mission and values.
