Job Overview:
We are looking for a
Lead Welding Process Engineer (1st Shift)
to become part of our Manufacturing team.
Join us in our mission to design and produce advanced rocket engines and power systems that contribute to space exploration and national defense.
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of weldments through adherence to best practices and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and resolve issues related to critical weldments, ensuring compliance with best practices for fit-up, cleanliness, and welding parameters.
2. Establish and document welding parameters to enhance production efficiency.
3. Conduct root cause analysis and manage the resolution of non-conforming hardware.
4. Perform statistical analysis of welding processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
5. Define specifications and requirements for welding machinery.
6. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing clear reports on issues, solutions, and outcomes.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology is required, along with six (6) years of aerospace experience working with various alloys, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in developing welding parameters for various welding techniques.
- Familiarity with setting up Torch Weld Jigs (TWJ) for precise fitment.
- Proven ability in conducting root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of weld specifications and process capability analysis.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for leading teams in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional Experience:
- Working knowledge of D17.1 or Journeyman Weld certifications.
- Proficiency in writing specifications for welding machines.
- Experience with electronic planning and technical drawings.
- Handling large structures or hardware.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $92,500 - $171,500.
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
