Position Reference:

SCS Engineers is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Consultant to join our team, focusing on diverse civil, solid waste, and environmental projects.

We are looking for an individual who is a fast learner, highly motivated, and a collaborative team member, eager to advance in their career.

The role involves working on projects related to landfills and their infrastructure, solid waste management, including landfill gas management, composting operations, and transfer stations. Proficiency in AutoCAD, design, engineering, permitting, and construction oversight is essential.

Your Impact: As a Senior Civil Engineering Consultant, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices in solid waste management and related areas. You will be responsible for:

  • Completing designs utilizing 2D and Civil 3D AutoCAD drafting, along with necessary mathematical calculations.
  • Preparing engineering calculations, technical drawings, reports, and permit submissions.
  • Independently making decisions on engineering challenges and methodologies, coordinating project work, and representing the firm at industry meetings.
Fieldwork will be conducted in various terrains and weather conditions.

Office Responsibilities:
Tasks will include AutoCAD drafting, mathematical analysis, report generation, creating site layouts and facility schematics, and preparing permit applications. You will receive technical guidance on complex issues and seek supervisory approval for proposed projects.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering is required. A minimum of 2 years of relevant civil engineering experience is necessary, with solid waste experience considered an advantage. An E.I.T. certification is required, with plans to obtain a P.E. license. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is essential. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is also required.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
