This position primarily focuses on the renewable energy industry and power distribution, with opportunities to explore other sectors as necessary.

Responsibilities will encompass overseeing all facets of civil design and supporting clients in the execution of wind and solar initiatives.

Common duties related to this role include mentoring junior staff in the creation of construction documents, conducting site assessments, performing feasibility analyses, designing roadways, grading, stormwater management, drafting technical reports, and other related activities.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
10 years of relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or the ability to obtain it within one year
Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar CAD-based civil design software
Knowledge of GIS-based applications
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities
Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship from Barr
Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in preparing plans and specifications, evaluating alternatives, and developing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
Construction administration experience, including reviewing and responding to payment applications, submittals, and claims, as well as interpreting plans, specifications, and bid documents
Experience in drafting presentations, memos, and report text and figures
15 or more years of relevant work experience
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position, allowing for a combination of office and remote work.

NOTE:

Applicants must be capable of working in environments with challenging terrain typical of construction sites and must be able to enter and operate in facilities that may have limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions common to industrial settings.

The position will require lifting or transporting field-testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be required to participate in a drug screening program at the request of clients.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000–95,000. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this role may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
