Position Overview

Library Systems & Services is in search of a skilled IT Project Manager to spearhead project management and coordination for extensive development initiatives, particularly in the realm of data warehousing and analytical tools. This position demands a highly experienced individual with at least eight (8) years of expertise in software development, project oversight, and the execution of sophisticated data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee the technical facets of numerous large-scale development initiatives, from concept to execution.
  • Manage the architecture, development, and implementation of data warehouses and analytical tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives and performance metrics.
  • Design and deploy database solutions, including cloud-based platforms such as PaaS and SaaS.
  • Engage with stakeholders to outline project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Guarantee the integration and enhancement of various software products and solutions, including Oracle, Oracle Data Warehousing, SAS BI, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Python, and R.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize databases across diverse platforms, including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Perl, JavaTM, Oracle PLSQL, C++, HTML5, .NET, and C# to construct robust visual interfaces and applications for data management.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of developers, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.
  • Conduct code evaluations, testing, and quality assurance processes to guarantee the delivery of superior solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to foster innovation and continuous enhancement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Deliver technical documentation and training to end-users and stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in a comparable role, with proven experience as a technical lead for large-scale development projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of database management systems, including cloud-based solutions such as PaaS and SaaS.
  • Proficiency in a range of software products and solutions, including Oracle, Oracle Data Warehousing, SAS BI, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Python, and R.
  • Experience with multiple platforms, including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Perl, JavaTM, Oracle PLSQL, C++, HTML5, .NET, and C#.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing visual interfaces and applications for data collection, storage, display, and dissemination.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a history of delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
