Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Staff Management | SMX. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools to produce high-quality parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain CNC machine tools to produce parts and products with high precision and accuracy.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Train and mentor less experienced machinists to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge within the team.
  • Collaborate with the new product development team to assist with design for manufacturability and ensure efficient production processes.
  • Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and verbal and written instructions to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Machine and install or re-cut chuck jaws as required to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Use hand tools and manual machines as needed to complete tasks and projects.
  • Set up and verify preset gauges for proper calibration to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Work with the supervisor, programmer, and support teams to resolve problem situations and ensure optimal machine performance.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in CNC machining and manufacturing.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with setting up multi-axis machines and operating CNC machine tools.
  • Knowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and apply them to production processes.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
