Job Summary

Staff Management | SMX is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Downers Grove, IL. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools to produce high-quality parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC Machine Tools: Set up and operate CNC machine tools to produce parts and products with high precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain Machine Tools: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC machine tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machine tools and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Train and Assist: Train and assist less experienced machinists and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Work with Design Team: Collaborate with the design team to assist with design for manufacturability and ensure that parts and products meet quality and performance standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining and machine operation.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge and experience with setting up multi-axis machines, knowledge of machining principles and methods for computer numerical controlled machine tools, ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints, and demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for 8 hours, lift 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
