Position Overview

Staff Management | SMX is seeking skilled Machinists III for our esteemed client. This is a remarkable, direct-hire opportunity available across various shifts, including:

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday

Compensation for this role ranges from $22 to $28 per hour. Ideal candidates will possess CNC Machinist experience along with exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Team Leader when necessary, typically to cover for absences
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and implement necessary adjustments
  • Train less experienced machinists as required
  • Collaborate with the new product development team to assist with design for manufacturability
  • Interpret and work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, and verbal as well as written instructions
  • Machine and install or re-cut chuck jaws as needed
  • Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets
  • Utilize hand tools and manual machines as necessary
  • Set up and verify preset gauges for proper calibration
  • Work closely with supervisors, programmers, and support teams to resolve issues
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with multi-axis machine setups
  • Understanding of machining principles and methods for CNC tools
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints in English
  • Demonstrated capability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift

Candidate Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful Background Check
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Pass a Drug Test
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift
  • Minimum age of 18 years

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is between $22.00 and $28.00. This range is a good-faith estimate based on various factors. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
