About the Opportunity

Volunteers of America Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist to support our Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. As a Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the administrative operations and compliance of our program, which provides critical services to low-income and homeless veterans and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support in the creation of custom reporting tools and operational program requirements.
  • Ensure records compliance with federal and state mandates on privacy and confidentiality, especially for data sharing and transfer.
  • Ensure quality of user operation through reports on file/field completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Train staff and answer questions specific to selected systems and developed methods.
  • Attend program and team meetings to share concerns and updates.
  • Spot check electronic case management records to conduct audits and monitor Program Coordinators on audit responses.
Requirements
  • Understanding of ECMR software programs and query reports.
  • Ability to identify software issues and communicate to rectify.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software, and networks.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience working with specialized reporting, data handling, data exchange, and data security.
