Job Summary:
The International Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for providing expert guidance on international trade compliance regulations, including Export Administration Regulations (EAR), EU Dual-Use Regulations, Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), and Free Trade Agreement eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine product classifications (Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) & Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)) and other valuation, origin, and licensing requirements.
- Research and respond to inquiries on various trade compliance regulations.
- Conduct assessments of exporters' & importers' compliance controls, review and prepare customized corporate policy and procedure manuals, conduct compliance assessments and assist in training programs.
- Liaise with domestic and international departmental teams for daily support and managerial oversight of documentation, compliance, data management.
- Make classification determinations and manage associated compliance data.
- Exercise sound judgement and model a high degree of personal accountability.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in international trade compliance.
- Bachelors required, Masters Degree or J.D. a plus.
- Customs Broker License a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance regulatory and technical research.
- HTS and ECCN classification experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently and perform highly detailed work.
- Strong team and collaboration skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Knowledge in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word & Excel).
