Ship Control System Government Engineer

Noblis is seeking a highly skilled Ship Control System Government Engineer to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their mission to enable research, development, test, and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service, and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering and technical assistance support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Facilitate testing and troubleshooting of ship steering equipment/SCS-GOV and leading technical refreshes of existing systems.
- Complete Shipboard Operability Verification Tests for steering systems.
- Assess proper integration with steering peripheral equipment such as Hydraulic Power Units, and Machinery Control Systems.
- Travel to fleet concentration areas to facilitate technical installations, training, and/or repairs (up to 25%).
- Facilitate crew upgrade training as it pertains to new system installation and operation.
- Provide subject matter expertise at status meetings.
- Complete assigned tasking with minimal to no supervision.
- Develop, derive, troubleshoot, and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systems (PLC-based control systems) both at LBES and shipboard.
- Provide test support at LBES and shipboard SW & HW installation support at LBES.
- Provide feedback and lessons learned for test plans and technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and 5 (5) years minimum technical experience in architecting and designing electrical to mechanical systems or a minimum of nine years of related experience such as active military service as an ET or ETV.
- Additional electronics/electrical related experience may also be considered.
- Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance required.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%, domestic and international (passport required).
- Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in the use of software-based and diagnostic test tools associated with industrial control systems.
- Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, or other PLC systems.
- Proficient in basic computer/laptop use, including advanced operations.
- Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools.
- Proficient technical writing ability and editing electrical diagrams.
- Self-motivated and ability to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively within an integrated team environment.
